ELON MUSK : IT WAS INSANE THAT TWITTER SUSPENDED A SITTING PRESIDENT

Elon Musk has spoken out sharply against Twitter’s decision to suspend former President Donald Trump’s account, describing the move as “outrageous” and indicative of a broader pattern of what he sees as social media censorship.

Musk, now the owner of the platform he has rebranded as 𝕏, made his comments during a public discussion about his reasons for acquiring the company. The billionaire entrepreneur emphasized that he believed it was crucial to buy Twitter to protect free expression and counter the influence of what he called “far-left activists” controlling major social media platforms and tech companies.

“The reason I felt it was important to acquire Twitter was because I could really feel the walls closing in,” Musk said, referring to what he perceives as a narrowing space for dissenting viewpoints online. “It was outrageous that they suspended the account of a sitting president. That’s insane.”

Musk suggested that if he hadn’t acted, his own social media presence would have been at risk. “I think it was only a matter of time before they suspended my account,” he continued. “For sure, given the stuff I’ve said lately, they would have suspended me six ways to Sunday.”

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO has long been vocal about his concerns over what he sees as tech industry bias, claiming that nearly all major social media companies are influenced by far-left activists. “Pretty much all the social media companies, and Google, and everyone else are controlled by far-left activists,” Musk declared. “That’s the truth of it.”

He argued that the truth is increasingly difficult to discern online, especially as information is filtered through what he describes as a “San Francisco, Berkeley lens,” a reference to the liberal culture associated with the region. “They just manipulate the truth constantly,” Musk alleged.

Musk also criticized Google, claiming that its algorithms push important truths deep into search results. “You can’t even find the truth if you Google it, because Google has put it on page six,” he claimed.

For Musk, the rebranded 𝕏 platform represents a bastion for genuine discourse. “At least there’s one place where you can find out what’s actually going on and what’s real, and that’s the 𝕏 platform,” he concluded.

These comments underscore Musk’s broader mission with 𝕏: to position the platform as a free-speech haven in the face of what he sees as widespread digital censorship. However, critics have raised concerns that his changes could amplify misinformation and make the platform a more chaotic space. As Musk’s influence continues to shape 𝕏’s policies, debates about online free speech and platform responsibility remain highly charged.
